ABSTRACT
Like any educated individual, I have lived a two-dimensional life. First, I have been a student through many formal levels of education; I have been a constantly assessed learner. Second, I have been an educator at different places and through many levels, which means I have been an examiner and an assessor in various systems and levels. I have been a learner in both roles. This paper presents my currere in relation to assessment. With a cursory glance at my life as a student-learner, I focus on my four-phase evolution as an educator-assessor: imitative-informative past, applicational-transformative future, emulative-formative exposures and educative-transformative present. I reveal that the life of an educator-assessor embodies a constant deconstruction of formal education in the backdrop of the need to adopt innovative and evolutionary assessment parameters.
